Plant care best practices
Succulents are very hardy plants. In nature, they grow in places where there is less rainfall and very less nutrients. They conserve water by storing in their root, leaves and stem. That’s why they look fleshy and plum. They shall need indirect light. They will thrive well in this lighting situation. Direct sunlight will burn their delicate leaves. Thus, they need to be kept where the light is good but no sun. Succulents need simple soil which is a mix of sand and soil. They need a well drained pot so that in case there is extra water applied, it can flow out. They are not used to excess water and start having problems once they get stagnated in the water. The irrigation requirements are minimal. They need to be watered in small amounts every few days and the soil needs to dry up fully. Moist soil should be avoided. During the summer season, the water needs to be given in plenty and during winter once in a few days. Fertilizers can be given once in a month as organic fertilizers.

Once received, put the plant in an airy place and add a small amount of water. Keep them in a place where there is indirect bright light. Repotting can be done after a week or so.

A soil mix which will allow excess water to drain off. Perlite mix is also a very good soil mix.
Irrigation needs to be done once a week. Make sure that the soil is dry. Do not overwater.
Once every month with organic fertilizers.
Root Rot : It happens due to excess watering. They will become soft and lose their natural color. They will look white. This is a sign of excess water. Need to stop watering, dig the roots, cut the infected part and repot the healthy plant in a new dry soil medium. Do not overwater afterwards.
Falling leaves : Due to underwatering, the leaves will start to fall off. Make sure that the water given is the correct amount and any excess water is drained off.
Burned leaves : Exposure to sun. the corner of the leaves will burn off and the plant will look dry. In case immediately bring the plant to a location where there is indirect sunlight. Give water to it properly and nurse it to health. They can recover very fast.
Insects and bugs : They might appear on the succulents. Spider mites, white flies etc. They can be removed by cleaning the leaves of the plant with a cloth. If they do not go, a small diluted quantity of neem oil can be applied on them. They shall vanish
