Red Panda

The endangered Red Panda inhabits the Himalayan forests in regions like Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Bhutan. Sporting red and white markings, this cute and fluffy creature faces severe threats due to ongoing habitat exploitation and deforestation, restricting its operational and movement zones. With fewer than 5000 red pandas remaining in the wild in India, urgent action is required.

To safeguard the Red Panda, there’s a crucial need to expand its habitat by planting more trees and plants. Additionally, raising awareness about the Red Panda’s significance in the ecosystem among the general populace is essential. The project strives to achieve these goals by educating people, planting trees, and expanding the area under tree cover, ensuring a conducive environment for the Red Panda to thrive. Join this impactful and enduring initiative by planting trees, contributing to carbon fixing, and supporting the long-term conservation of the Red Panda habitat.

Impact in Numbers

We will plant 50,000 trees in Project Green Red Panda.

Carbon Fixed  250 Kgs per tree.

CO₂ reduction from the atmosphere by 900 Kg per tree.

The positive impact will reach 100 Red Pandas.

Ecological impact

Experts choose trees for planting based on local animal and bird requirements, considering soil, climate, and temperature suitability. Therefore, each planted tree, diverse in species, contributes to biodiversity maintenance and supports the lives of local animals and birds.

  • The trees planted shall help in controlling the soil erosion.
  • The project shall be able to increase the number of trees that are less in that area.
  • Increase in the overall green cover of the country.

Positive impact on farmers

  • Farmers get high-quality saplings to plant on their lands adjacent to the forests. Fruit trees, Timber trees, Medicinal plants.
  • Increase in the farmer income by 10% over 10 years.
  • Better economic conditions for the farmers help in getting education for the children, and nutrition for the family.

About the Project: Red Panda

Project Red Panda is an ongoing project to help achieve increased greenery in the state. In this project, we identify sites and reach out to farmer groups to plant trees on their lands near forest areas. We identify high-quality seedlings of fruit trees, timber trees, medicinal plants, and forest trees, and then plant them on the farmers’ lands. Additionally, we explain to the farmers how to raise them, providing insights into best practices and the benefits they will receive in the next 2, 5, 10, and 20 years.

Furthermore, experts make periodic visits to monitor progress and guide the farmers. We record the current condition of the farmers and forest cover on a platform, updating it during every visit to track improvements. The project continually identifies new sites and farmer groups to spread the benefits to all.

Technology

Furthermore, the project team actively geotags the trees, ensuring precise tracking of their locations. GPS technology is utilized to mark the area boundary accurately. Notably, farmer details, including relevant images, are diligently captured and securely stored through mobile apps directly from the field. This comprehensive data collection process enables the project to maintain a robust database.

Additionally, the project calculates the yearly carbon fixation by employing expert-developed equations specific to different tree species within the app. Integrating these calculations into detailed reports offers valuable insights into the project’s environmental impact. Throughout the entire data acquisition, storage, and analysis process, the project maintains total transparency, ensuring the reliability and integrity of the information collected. This commitment to transparency allows for informed decision-making and effective monitoring of the project’s progress.

Impact assessment

Particularly, the project team actively measures the impact it creates for both wildlife and farmers. Regularly capturing data at defined intervals ensures a comprehensive assessment of the project’s effects. We meticulously analyze this data by comparing it with the previous data collected on the same parameters calculated a few months ago. The team precisely measures the observed changes against the planned results, enabling an accurate evaluation of progress and effectiveness.

Furthermore, this systematic monitoring allows for a deeper understanding of the project’s outcomes and facilitates informed decision-making. By comparing the current data with past records, the project can identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement. This process ensures that the project remains on track and enables the necessary adjustments to achieve the desired results.

Reports

The project reports are prepared and sent to the contributors. The report covers the following

1) Trees status as on the last visit made

2) Any mortality in the trees planted

3) Carbon fixed in MT from the start of the project

4) Quantity of fruits that are being produced by the planted trees

5) Economic impact on the farmers.

6) Ecological impact created.

Greenverz Solutions Private Limited is a Land Restoration and tree plantation company which is involved in tree plantations in rural area as well as urban areas and cities. The tree orders that are placed by the customers are planted and details shared of the location where the trees have been planted. The locations can be anywhere in the country depending on the availability of sites and trees. We do not sell any physical product like tree saplings, leaves, branches etc. All orders of the trees are planted and no tree saplings orders can be physically sent to any person or entity. We strive to make India greener and sustainable.
